PDA: Library Management Skills Series - Conflict Resolution in Libraries

This workshop provides library staff with a comprehensive understanding of conflict resolution and collegiality in the library setting. Participants will explore the importance of collegiality in fostering a collaborative work environment, especially given the interconnected nature of library work. You will learn strategies for resolving various types of conflicts that can arise among library staff, faculty, students, and patrons. The role of library leaders in promoting collegiality and providing conflict resolution training will also be discussed. Through group discussions, sharing of experiences, and hands-on activities, participants will gain practical tools to address non-collegial behavior, encourage cooperation among diverse staff, and create an environment conducive to collegiality.
